Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

With other users: When you share personal information or interact in public areas with other users such information may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside.

With your consent: We may disclose your personal information for any other purposes with your consent.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

When you share your contact information (name, email, phone) using feedback or contact forms within The Mindful Soul website, it will be collected and used to send you notifications of publications, courses, posts, comments, etc, to manage requests, for data analysis, and/or to communicate with you concerning goods or services you have purchased or are interested in purchasing. Your contact information will not be shared with others and remains private with The Mindful Soul. We may contact you by other means besides electronic mail (SMS, phone call, etc) only with a further one on one agreement.

Usage data is also collected for the purpose of understanding how you use the website. Usage data is collected automatically and may include your IP address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our website that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device and other diagnostic data.

When you access the service by or through a mobile device, we may collect certain information automatically, including by not limited to the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, you mobile device operating system, the type of browser you use and other diagnostic data.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

The Mindful Soul uses industry standards of protecting your data. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Your collected information will be maintained using professional standards. If you are signed up for any service that requires video transmission The Mindful Soul takes care to use third party services that offer industry standard encryption services.

Email, text messaging, or any other communication you engage in with The Mindful Soul for counselling and guidance services requires your verbal consent before services can be obtained. Before these services start, you will be required to discuss and agree with the service providers these privacy standards.

Children’s privacy

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data please contact us. If If we become aware that we have collected personal data from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

What data breach procedures we have in place

In the unlikely event that a data breach occurs, you will be informed within 12-24 hours of the breach by LaBeth Brewer with The Mindful Soul. You will receive this information by email or other communication measures. You will understand what breach has occurred, and the extent to which your information was compromised. You will be informed of what actions will take place to secure your data.

Changes to this privacy policy

We may update the privacy policy from time to time. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this policy are effective when they are posted.
